Revision Rhinoplasty

These are the surgeries required for correction in case the targeted results cannot be achieved in a nose surgery. Revision surgery can be performed in the following cases;

  • Although there is no obvious problem in terms of aesthetics, the desired result of the patient has not been achieved
  • Irregularities in the back of the nose
  • Asymmetries at the tip of the nose
  • Curvatures that cause nasal congestion
  • Loss or deterioration of cartilage or bone structures

After rhinoplasty operations, it takes between 6 months and 1 year for the healing to be completed and the nose to take its final shape, depending on the intervention. For this reason, it is generally necessary to wait at least 6 months before performing a second surgery.

In revision surgeries, cartilage may be needed in some severe deformities. In cases where there is not enough cartilage in the nose, cartilage may need to be removed from the ear or rib. Ear cartilage is taken from the back of the ear and rarely scars can remain. The rib cartilage is planned so that the incision is below the breast line and forms a scar of about 4 cm

In order to obtain successful results in revision surgeries, problems should be identified very well, techniques that can be applied in surgery should be planned in advance and necessary preparations should be made.
